Entering an installation made by Judith Nab, the spectator finds
himself in the centre of interest. Mostly without actors, the installations and
performances, are characterized by playful situations.
Notable elements in her work are the use of light and darkness,
blending of all kinds of new technologies, moving objects and
figures, (animation) film, video, music and sound samples (recorded and
real time), fragments of interviews etc.
Most of the work is site specific. Other work fits the Black Box or
aims at exhibition spaces.

Her
focus has always been on the various possibilities of perceiving
reality.
Another thread is the relation between our lives and our environment in
terms of space, landscape and architecture.
Judith Nab manipulates the perception of time and space in a subtle and
poetic way. She creates an atmosphere that makes the spectator loose
its certainties for a while.
For 6 years Judith Nab studied theatre in Paris and founded Theatre
Espace.
She developed her first performance in 1991 at the seashore of the
Dutch coast. Since 2000 she has been based in Amsterdam, working
independently.
She has done work for various festivals, theatres and museums in
Belgium (Het PALEIS, Antwerp, Zomer van Antwerpen), Italy (Teatro a
Corte Torino),
France (La Chartreuse, Villeneuve-les Avignon, Monuments Nationaux, In
Situ- Marseille a.o.)
and The Netherlands (Kroller-Muller Museum, Scheltema Leiden a.o)
